Always ready to make a racket.
Hello! I'm Ash - producer, music teacher and recording artist. I've been a musician for more than 18 years, and got my start in the heat of the Brisbane hardcore scene, providing live audio for bands like Parkway Drive. Now I work as an instrumental music teacher, and when I'm not teaching young musicians to turn their guitar amps up too loud, I'm recording, producing and supporting the next generation of local artists from my newly established home studio.

Looking to cut your first demo? Or just need a vocal track for an audition? I've got you covered.
I offer professional recording and production services from my home studio in Dakabin, which features a live room for vocals and acoustic instruments, a project room for mixing and arranging, and access to a range of instruments, gear, and software. I'll work with you hands-on to find and record your sound, and as an experienced guitarist and drummer, I am able to play instruments for your track if needed.Rates are quoted on a case by case basis, but I typically book half-day (4 hours) and full-day (8 hours) sessions - prices include recording, editing, arranging, and any additional time spent mixing and mastering your final project.

forged by my own musical journey, i'm committed to supporting the next generation of rock stars.
Over the years I've had great opportunities to engage with music - I've played the guitar and drums for nearly 18 years, I've worked as a sound designer and voice actor for screen projects, I've built my own guitars and guitar pedals from scratch, and I've been fortunate enough to record and perform my own music. Now, I'm happy to share this knowledge with anyone willing to give it a try. I offer private lessons in guitar, drums, bass, and ukulele, as well as sessions for songwriting, performance, and gear maintenance, and I am currently pursuing qualifications as a school music teacher.Private lessons start at $30 for 30 minutes, and $50 for 60 minutes (subject to availability), and are held at my Dakabin home studio, at JMC South Brisbane, or in-home on request. If you prefer a more professional environment to learn the craft, you can find me at the Australian Academy of Music in Brendale, where I am employed as an instructor.

performing live is always an absolute joy, and it remains a core part of my musical journey.
I write, record and perform my own music as a solo artist - while my tastes and projects are often pretty eclectic, my current personal project blends shoegaze, jazz, and post-punk into a package that I feel better reflects my artistic identity these days.I also perform as an accompanying guitarist alongside local vocalist and drummer Bree Ryan, where we perform for weddings, private events, and local gatherings - our sound is softer and more tailored for intimate events, and if you have something specific you'd like to hear for a special event, we can make it happen.I am available for bookings, both with my associated acts or as a session musician for temporary projects and recording sessions. Rates are quoted on a case by case basis.

I understand the frustration of trying to learn from inaccurate or poorly transcribed music.
To ensure that all my students have the right resources to learn from, I transcribe all of the songs that we work on together. Then, I make these resources available online, for no extra cost, alongside free resources to help you learn your instrument, such as chord charts, posters, multi-effects pedal patches, and guide-books.In addition, I also provide transcription services for more obscure songs and custom arrangements - depending on the length and complexity of the piece, I can transcribe your request into sheet music or tablature for a wide range of instruments. These resources can be found on my Gumroad store, available through the link below, and I only ask for an optional donation to support my work. Custom transcriptions begin at $5, subject to the scale of the requested piece.
